2010 Cal Simmons, owner of Rising Dragon, has joined the Extreme Stunt Team & Driving Team ( http://www.extremestunt.com). This means that Rising Dragon is more than just Fights, we are now able to draw upon resources that make us Full Service and able to provide Michigan productions with fights, stunts, precision driving, and rigging. All of which are eligible for the Michigan Film Incentives. --- Shooting has wrapped on Legend of the Red Reaper (http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0996958/). Cal Simmons, owner of Rising Dragon, was Fight Director and Stunt Coordinator. Shortly after arriving in Florida, it was decided he would also appear on screen as the character Kreios. A release date is unknown at this time. --- Rising Dragon has started organizing an event intended to introduce investors and their advisors to film investment. Film investment is far outside traditional forms of what is considered normal business investment. The event is intended to be educational in nature and to be "filmmaker free", so that attendees may focus on the evening's program and gain the knowledge they need to perform Due Diligence in this exciting and unique type of investment. Filmmakers will be encouraged to submit information, documentation, and other written materials regarding their projects so that attendees may review them at their leisure. --- Darksong has entered into talks with a domestic distributor and two foreign sales agents. Due to on going conversations with these respected outfits, we will not be disclosing their identities at the present time. --- Two time Emmy winner Tom Fulks will be director of the movie Darksong. His eye for bringing a project to a high polished finish and beautiful conclusion make him an ideal addition to our project. His energy and excitement is a welcome addition to our own. --- We are pleased to announce that Chase Masterson has expressed interest in a roll with the Darksong project. Having Chase with us in this endeavor is a big boost to the project. We plan to work with Grace & Wild, specifically HD Studios, Division X, and Postique, for post-production and some production services. They are an amazing bunch of people and great to work with. --- We have found new hosting for our website. Please feel free to explore and enjoy. --- ASP Films, LLC is set to shoot The Lightning Project in late November/early December. It will feature both Calvin Simmons and Kat Kentes, both of Rising Dragon. --- Rising Dragon has taken on a momentous endeavor. We intend not only to film Lightning, Iron, and Mantis; but to present to investors a slate for four films. Darksong, Merideath, and Waterloo will join LIM as projects that we intend to develop, produce, and distribute. There is a tremendous amount of work ahead of us and perhaps a lot of fun too. --- Paul Shadd will be directing Divided, a short film based on a story written by David Gazoul. Fight Choreography will be provided by Rising Dragon. --- We’re headed to Rocket Rumble! TCN, Shadow Steel, and Rising Dragon will all have instructors at the University of Toledo for the stage combat workshop Rocket Rumble. Aaron Miller, Aaron Redford, David Gazoul, and Gary Bourassa will be among the instructors there from Rising Dragon. --- Critical Moves USA, the Detroit motion capture studio, has now seen a number of “Rising Dragons” in their building. Several of the team have put on black suits and white dots to aid with preliminary work to get the studio ready for motion capture production. The intention is to have as many people trained in motion capture as possible to provide actors for projects undertaken by Critical Moves. This will take place in and around the Lansing area and should take place later on this year. --- The Rising Dragon group has met with Jerry Seward (writer and producer of the Cyber Hunt project). We will be working with Jerry on Fight Choreography and advisement for the project. Also at the meeting were Mike Bolden and the fun bunch from Theatrical Combat Network (TCN). Talk about developing a close working relationship with TCN started along with possible projects that might be of interest to both teams. --- Calvin Simmons has met with Matt Dean in Florida. Calvin is no longer simply Fight Choreographer and Director of Legend of the Red Reaper, he also has a roll in the movie and will appear on screen as Kreios. There is little surprise that Calvin plays a character that instructs his people in the use of swords… We continue to be found in print. Stories of Rising Dragon and Lightning, Iron, & Mantis have been seen in both the Oakland Press and The Detroiter. --- Please look for the November 27th issue of the Troy-Somerset Gazette. Our group photo has made the front page of the issue! Rising Dragon’s own Calvin Simmons has been approached by Matt Dean Productions for Fight Choreographer and Fight Director. The film, Legend of the Red Reaper, is expected to start filming in March 2007 and take place in and around Central Florida. --- We have taken on a film project of our own. Rising Dragon is now in Development for the film project Lightning, Iron, and Mantis (a Martial Arts film which takes place in the year 2065 with a Detroit twist). We are also in talks with Red Line Cinema for possible aid in production. This is expected to be an amazing and entertaining venture, with rewarding possibilities. --- We have launched a MySpace Page! Temporary space is being arranged and classes and work-out sessions will start shortly. InZero, a serial feature set in a "cold and broken future" stars talent indigenous to the Detroit area and crewed like-wise, has hopes to pitch itself to nationally known media. Our part in the project will be to choreograph and oversee hand to hand combat.
